Many college students have different tastes when it comes to their favorite music, and a lot of students are developing a real ear for what their personal listening taste is. While some like country music, other college students like rap. While some like rap others prefer rock, and others still enjoy some eclectic mash-up of the genres. At this time of year most college students have packed up their favorites CDs or their iPod downloaded with their favorite tunes and headed back to school for the year. While college students may have different tastes in styles of music, one item that they cannot live without out is their iPod.
For those students who are rap and hip-hop fans their top picks in the rap and hip-hop category, the songs that they just can't live without, according to Apple (www.apple.com) are:

- Shoulder Lean by Young Dro featuring T.I.

Isn't it interesting that some of the top 10 rappers of all times were voted on by college students that weren't even born yet when the rap artists broke into the industry? It doesn't seem to matter to them. They enjoy the talent of the rappers listed here even if they were still the twinkle in their mother's eye when Run-D.M.C. broke out on the scene.
A few rappers were recently honored with a Teen Choice Award for 2006 in the following categories:
- Best Hip-hop track went to Nelly Furtado, featuring Timbaland for "Promiscuous."
- The song of the summer went to Nelly Furtado, featuring Timbaland for "Promiscuous."
- And finally, the V Cast Music artist of the year went to Nelly Furtado.
So who are the favored rappers by college students? It seems to fully depend on who asks the question and how you ask the question. Whether it is their favorite rap song for the moment or their favorite rapper of all-time just depends on the circumstances! And with the MTV Awards and the BET Awards coming up just around the corner, college students may change their answers to these questions completely.
